I am looking for DIY maintenance tips for my 98 Fronty. I have the oil changed regularly. What else should I be doing on a regular basis. Is there a "Howto" somewhere on this site?

Define regular basis? Every day, once a month, once every 6 months.

Do go off road often? Depending on what you do with your truck how meticulous your inspections should be.

With the kind of driving that your doing there's not much you need to be worried about.

While changing your oil always inspect the underside of your truck. tie-rods, center link, ball joints. Check for play-looseness. This will give you a head up on upcoming maintenance.

Check the suspension for play lose hardware. Drive train for possible leaks. All front end parts. Rotors, brake pads, cv's.

Change your fuel filter every 20,000 miles or so. (once a year)it's easy,Helps gas mileage and does your car wonders for throttle response. While you're underneath, check the spare for damage (if you still have it) and emissions piping. Pay special attention to the pre-and post catalytic converter o2 sensors. i've had three of them shear just from everyday road debris over the last 7 years of owning the vehicle.
