I have a 2000 Frontier, Are there any existing grommets or holes that should be used to route things through the firewall? I need to route my CB Ant. wire, and a cable for a hand throttle, plus any future wires for power inverter, etc.

If not, what is the correct process for making such a whole? TIA

If you have an automatic, look for the place where the clutch would go through. It might not exist though. S14 240SX Autos don't have the hole and you have to cut it. I've used regular hole saws from Lowes to do this.

It might be a good idea to find the right grommets before you start cutting Wink

I know there's lots of grommeted holes inthe floor, if your antenna was going to end up sitting on back bumper or on the bed , somewhere.

No auto, I have a manual. And the antenna is a hood mount, the wire is in the engine bay.

So, I am a total noob. I have not problem making the hole, just need to know the process to do it right. Drill whole, install grommet, run wire, seal with silicon maybe?

In my truck I went under the shift boot and cut a small slit in the rubber over the shifter and ran wires under the truck and along the passenger frame rail to the battery.

I dreamt I was a muffler last night. When I woke up, I was exhausted.

I'm lazy. I just went from the engine bay through a hole to the passenger side fender then under the black plastic whatchamahoozit in front of the windshield (vent cowling?) and back down to where the door hinge is and around the corner into the cab and then up under the dash. I haven't broken the wires yet in four years of opening and closing the door.

To get wires from the battery to inside the cab on my truck, I just made a small hole in the rubber grommets and guided the wire thru with a coat hangar.

For my CB antenna. I lifted up the carpet and put the wire thru one of the drain plugs on the floor.

Thats where my CB wires go now. Don't think it will work for my hand throttle though.

I don't think I can run the hand throttle down underneath either, too long of a run. Good idea for electric though. Sounds like its time to bust out the drill torch
