Hi everyone,

I just bought back my 95 Pathy from a friend, and it is good to have a Nissan again. This is after he ran it into the ground with no maintenance and then let it sit for six months Frown. The plus side is though he didn’t maintain it at all, he put a Calmini lift and steering system on it Smile. It seems to be really noisy, I don’t know how to explain it. It’s more noticeable when I am turning slowly hard left or right. Now I want to point out this is my second Nissan truck with a lift. The other had a Rancho lift(big mistake) and Calmini steering. I just don’t recall it being this noisy. Now I understand that polyurethane bushings can be noisy. Does anyone have any ideas, or is this just common with the Calmini lift?

Thanks
Ryan

There are so many different things that can cause *noise* in the front...

What kind of noise is it?

The poly bushings tend to be squeaky when the suspension is being compressed/decompressed, so that could be it. And it's not limited to just Calmini, SLR, and AC's are all the same basica set-up, so they all squeak.

If that is the case, and it doesn't have them already, you can install some zerk fittings so that you can grease the bushings to eliminate the noise.

You said "hard" left or right, could also be your turn-stops (AKA stopper caps) which are supposed to have plastic caps on them, but get worn off leaving you with metal on metal when at full lock.

Could also be worn stabilizer bushings (my current problem) which causes a clunking noise as the stab bar moves around.

SOOO, we go back to my first question, what kind of noise is it?

Because I can, that's why...

Its a clunky-rubbing noise if that make sense lol. Also by the word stabalizer, do you mean anti-sway bar?

Im thinking it might be my bushings are shot on my front crossmember. Does this sound like a reasonable answer to anyone?

I know on the D21/22 pickups, the front crossmember can be loose. It needs 100 ft-lbs of torque on the bolts.

When loose, the frame willl creak.

It may/ may not be similar.

I wonder if the A-arm bushings are greased?
