I drove a mile from work and noticed that the AC wouldnt work. I turn to the engine heat gauge and it was in RED! I immediately pulled over into a parking lot. Noticed that the coolant was leaking. Popped the hood, noticed some fumes and the coolant was empty. But the leak seems to be happening away from the coolant reservoir. I just grabbed some lunch and returned to my office, and here I am typing away as I have no clue what to do. I dont even know where the closest mechanic is.

Can someone please help me diagnose??????????????

I got a body lift last week. WOnder if it is related. Thanks in advance.

I think sometimes one of the radiator hoses can kink as it is stretched just a little w/ the lift, but you mentioned seeing a leak?

Well, did you do the lift yourself? Hopefully it will just be a hose that was streached and either popped off or broke. Do you know where the leak was coming from? Near the heater core? Near the Radiator (raditor lowered during lift, correct)? Top or Bottom? At this time I would go back after it has cooled and add some water and see if you can find out where it is leaking from. Then we can make a more accurate recommendation. Where is your truck located (what parking lot)? Maybe one of us work or live around there.

I am on Rural and Ray in CHandler. ANyone? When I said "seeing a leak" I meant the drip under the body. I didnt not do the lift myself. It was done last Friday by Desert Rat. I have to go back to see where the exact leak is.

Let me add water to the radiator after an hour or so and see where the leak is.

Well, if it's coming from underneath the body, hopefully it is just the hose going to the heater core that's leaking or pulled off. When are you going back to your truck and what parking lot is it sitting in. I may be able to come by in the next hour or two.

I will go back when I know what to do next Smile I will be so glad if you can make it. I can be there whenever you can stop-by. Its in the parking lot where the Fry's is. South East corner of Rural and Ray. Its a white 98 fronty. I also need to figure out where the closest mechanic is.

I hope you get money back from those truck hackers at Desert Rat. That place sucks. (I had my screen name when that place was still a Dick Cepek center)

Consider calling Desert Rat (the truck hack shop) and asking them to fix it where it sits.

I will definitely considering calling them once I know what the problem is. I could use some help to do that.

Even if I did call them, would they accept it happened due to their install?

No luck with DR. They didnt seem to have a slightest idea about the issue. I got the usual "not required in ur model" answer. But Bob was kind enough to stop-by and help me identify the leak. I should be able to do the hose change on my own. I filled the radiator up with water and drove half a mile to a friend's place until I go buy the hose. Called-up Checker and they didnt seem to have the hose. Should check autozone. Off I go.

THANK YOU BOB and all others for your input.

So Bob, what was the issue? If it was DR's fault I think they deserve a bit of publicity for their handling of the situation.
