YES it was due to the body lift. Azfronty has a 4cyl and so the heater core hose is a short peice that goes from just below the Air cleaner directly up to the Heater Core connection. It was streched very tightly and had split at the bend to the connection. This was directly their fault. They should have replace that hose with a longer peice. Or they should have at least told him of the issue and told him to replace the hose ASAP. The second hose still had some slack in it.

Hopefully he turned off the engine before any real damage occured, from what it looked like, it might have been leaking over the past couple of days and just got to the point where there isn't enought fluid to keep the engine cool. The slice in the hose was only about 1/2" long.

Yeah, mine is pretty tight too. I am going to have to put an entirely new hose in there, and route it above, then around the air cleaner. Frown

Obviously the stock one will have the same problem again. I will need to replace it with a longer one. Which model year has a longer hose that I can buy at Autozone? Does the V6 have the same diameter?

When I had my '90 with the BL I just went and bought the correct diameter hose that was about 3 feet in length and did a nice radius with it. It wasn't as neet and tidy as factory but it worked great. I even went ahead and put the prestone flush kit in it and did the radiator while I already had it mostly empty. Good luck. I hope you didn't hurt the motor.

Had the same problem this past summer. Turned out to be a cracked manifold gasket and the coolant fluid was pooling at the top of the engine (V6) and then leaking down toward the back of the tranny. I replaced the timing chain, hoses and gaskets all at once and the gasket change seemed to do the trick. hope that helps

Some 5/8" heater hose should work. Any autoparts store will have it for $1 a foot or so. Cut to length and install.
