Tired of the original losing it's PSlube.. Is it possible existing can be rebuilt or would sector shaft gear wear nix any advantage? Is it possible to adjust out the slop like you could on old boxes? It looks like you can, but I tried once and got nowhere.
SOurcing and installing isn't a problem... What I am concerned w/ is advantages to installing a 4wd box( if possible).. I would assume it turns easier, but don't know about mounting hole centers, or if pitman arm differences will negate the swap. ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. Bille,
I swapped in a 4wd gearbox when I did my SAS, and it bolted right up. I think the only differences were the fluid lines... I think they had different ends. If you source one, source it with the pitman arm. I dunno if their are differences between pitmans tho. ----------------------------- My myspace page. TUPPERWARE!!!! Thanks Greg.
"... with the pitman" , because of the hassle in swapping it over to the new one? I'll have to check down in the Otay junkyards then, to see how resonable a nonleaky used one is. ... Found one in Oceanside , used ,for $225 ... Just the second quote, tho, the first was for $500. I told them they were I suppose I should hit up a home page vendor to see what new OEm price is. ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. It's politics... For the newer trucks there like 325. The older gear boxes are over $550. If the junk yard wants over 200 for a used I would just spend the extra on a new rebuilt one.
