So why are there none in the aftermarket? With multipoint fuel injection, does it make a difference? With carbs and tbi, how do they make a difference and why is something like that not stock?

I looked at some pictures and they all seemed to have some sort of threading on the bore. Does that promote turbulence or something? There was that tornado thing that claimed to boost gas millage through turbulence. But I know thats hogwash.

No answer here. There's next to nothing for 49 state and nothing for CA.

I've been thinking of getting my exhaust manifold "extrude honed", then get it plasma sprayed to build up the exterior for more strength, and finally get it JET-HOT'd... They just get too damn hot and crack over time.

PRice an OEM EXhst mani for this engine- damn expensive, and you can't find them in junkyards anymore- unless you're really lucky and happen to catch a wreck when it comes in.

The 2001 EX manifold is stronger version for this engine, but the EGR must be swapped over- if you ever manage to find one in a wrecking yard.. I've found several in years past, but no more.

I think the only real option is building up a motor on the side. I hear there's lots of crazy fast 240SX's, turboed, and cammed out.

You have to dig through those forums for the engine knowhow to do it right.

In the end it would be a good exercise, but very expensive for the payback in HP, imo.

Check into PDM racing- supposedly been racing nissans for a couple decades.

A throttle body spacer doesn't do anything for the engine. I cant even remember what the theory behind them are.

I think they suppose to speed up air flow or something. Changing out the air filter regularly is the best upgrade for the throttle body.

I'm not sure what power gains are there for 4cyl, but they're pretty significant with the V8...

the throttle body spacer actually swrils the air for faster/more efficient intake, therefore helping with HP gains and gas mileage... Chug

So why is the technology not integrated into the stock manifold? Whats the downside?

I have no idea... why don't cars come with cold air intakes? why don't our truck already come with solid front axles? there are a lot of things that car companies could do to make automobiles better, but it costs them money, so them money, so they don't...

the "whistle" that the throttle body spacer makes is the only downside... it sounds like a mini turbo winding up when your on the throttle...

Well thank you. I found one spacer online but it was thru a bass-ackwards method and I'm not sure I like the idea of buying something that has no name. But anyway I'll keep finding out.
