On my X there were a couple of screws and then a couple of tabs hooked into the body panel if I remember right. I think I pushed toward the fender and sort of twisted the thing outward to get it free.

There are 2 screws holding them to the bed. Then there are just a couple of plastic tabs that are popped into place. I just gave them a good tug and they popped out. Thought I was going to break something too.

Yup, in the side jamb, on either side of the tailgate.

Once those are out you just have to wiggle and tug.

If I bend that out, then I either disfigure it or break it, what the hell is it doing inside there, this is a 1 piece bedliner.

Ok, just took a look, not in the tailgate jamb proper, but in the bed, just in front of that area- about 2" up from the bed bottom, and 6 inches down from the top of the bedside, there's a 10mm hex bolt( 2), on each side.

RazzGet out your xray eyes and look under the bedliner.

You have to bend it out. Just did this on Tiffany's truck and it has a bedliner. It might disfigure, but it'll eventually settle back into shape. Use a ratchet if you can, a screwdriver is too big to get in there. 10mm will do it.

Also, those hooks for the bed extender are held in with the same bolts.

Who's the idiot that designed that, those are the bolts for the bed extender. Had I been up somewhere where it is freezing, that bed liner would have snap off.

If you can't tell, I'm having a pissed off day too (I know you are Allen).

Anyhow, it's fixed now.

THANK YOU all for your thought and advice.

Heat up a piece of 3/4" copper pipe ,center it on the bolt heads- melt out some access holes.

Thought of that, Nissan should have done that already for us, but then again, look who I am asking. Anyhow, if I have to get in there again, I will do just that.
