Thanks for the humor...some vehicle mains can be changed without dropping the tranny or 'pulling the engine'

Sorry, couldn't resist.

For the VG30E, if I understand correctly, the seal is one piece and is installed in a retainer that is then bolted to the rear of the block. There is also a paper type gasket for the retainer. I think someone recently posted pics of an install, maybe Datz. I've got both a seal and gasket in front of me, as I will be doing this when I replace my tranny.

Seal: 12279-AD205
Gasket: 12298-7B001

I have to do the same thing. I'll be replacing mine when I do the clutch. Like 70K miles away from now.

boom

It doesn't look complicated. You might be able to get away with sliding the tranny back a bit.

Might as well pull the engine. Big Grin

I agree, it'll be mighty hard with a manual tranny.

I'm not sure as to why the childish person added their comments in a humorous manner to my initial query, but I really don't have time to make jokes whenever I'm on this site looking for support and/or suggestions concerning any problem I may have with my Nissan Pathfinder.

Therefore, I respectfully ask that the moderator please remove my login data and any personal information from the site.

I'm sure other comparable sites, and their contributors, would be happy to offer productive suggestions without the detours through Comedy Central.

This is not a business, it is a bb. You asked for advice and I provided it with humor, no charge. I also quickly appologized for the humor and gave more information, also for free. If you don't like humor, this site is NOT for you. If you want a bb with less humor, try Pirate. Also, did you try a search for the info you were looking for before asking for help? Nobody here is obligated to help you with anything, we do so out of a desire to help others.

I thought that was a great answer. Razz

I have always gotten help on this forum, provided I asked an intelligent question and provided enough info and details.

Simple questions are generally answered by consulting a $15 repair manual, which any do-it-yourselfer should own.

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

OK guys, calm down.

Questions are always welcome here. No matter what the question.

If you have a issue with a member on the forum, please send them a personal message regarding your problem.

Remember everyone in the world can read whats posted in a thread. No one can read what's said in a private message.

As for the other Nissan boards, Your not going to find another Nissan truck related forum with as much tech and knowledge people than here. Also the people on n4w are usually nice and collected people. Take a tour of AC.

Thank you LordBiotree for your input. As far as the rest of those that added their 'ashertrays' and such..FY.

I joined this forum mistakenly thinking I could get productive information concerning my Pathfinder. However, I soon discovered that this site is no different than any other BB's, and they all could care less about new folks that join the club. They are so consumed with the goal of who has the most post's instead of offering constructive information...as if that makes them a guru of some sort.

Having made that determination, fuck all of you very much.
