Check Hardbody forum. I was simply pointing out a possibility. Read PACKMAN response to battery. That's all I meant. My inquiry may seem arrogant (I'm sorry if I offended you) but you were WRONG about his starter relay. He cleaned his terminals and now it starts. So we all learned something.
Take care. Steve |

nice try, but the problem was with the starter, not the battery, which is what you said it was. the possibility that you pointed out made no sense, and could not be true, no matter what. I replied to keep bad information off this board, and maintain it's accuracy, since many people search here for information. I wouldn't want someone to go buy a new battery because you said so, and then find out it was a relay or just some dirt and oil on the starter.
face it, what you said made no sense. if jump starting the car doesn't work, the battery is fine. remember me saying that? you said the opposite, that if jumping didn't work to get a new battery (it hurts me to even type that, it is so stupid). so, looking back, what happened? jumping didn't work, and what do you know, the battery was fine, just like I said. go crawl back into your hole. It Never Ends... BUT if you let someone borrow your junk, wifey or girlfriend or mom or dad, and they don't know how to drive a rig with a locker, when they hit ice/snow they is so gonna crash that mofo! -Rondo |

I did not say it WAS his battery and I did not say to go and buy a new battery. I said try another known good battery in place of possible defective battery. Read in Hardbody forum; he said his terminals were dirty and was not starter or starter relay.
Why are you saying it was his starter? Thanks Steve |

where do you see a thread in the HB forum by the starter of this thread? checked the whole first page, and nothing.
my whole point all along has been that it is stupid, pointless, and huge waste of time to check a different battery if jumping it doesn't work. why can't you inderstand that? here's the thread, in the pathfinder forum http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/747603133/m/32510168831 and in case you can't read, which seems clear at this point, here is the relevant passage "cleaned the starter and all the connections. put everything back together and she fired right up." see where he said starter? yeah, that's why I am saying he cleaned the starter and it is fixed, because that is what he said. get it now? this hurts. It Never Ends... BUT if you let someone borrow your junk, wifey or girlfriend or mom or dad, and they don't know how to drive a rig with a locker, when they hit ice/snow they is so gonna crash that mofo! -Rondo |

Forgive me. Pathfinder forum. It was connections; not the actual battery, starter OR relay. I have always understood that a bad (real bad-toasted) battery won't allow the current of a good battery to pass through to start the vehicle.
Take care Steve |

good job, you can read!
conversation I had just now with the secretary at my office (keep in mind she knows nothing about cars) me: if your car doesn't start, what do you do? her: try to jump it me: if that doesn't work, what does that tell you? her: that the battery isn't dead. so, yeah, I can admit, and have, that I was wrong and it wasn't the relay. the point, that you can't seem to grasp, is that if you jump a car, and it still doesn't start, the battery is fine. have you learned anything? It Never Ends... just saw that you edited your post to add some stuff. "not the actual battery", and the last sentence about what you have always understood. nice.
you have always understood wrong, but thanks for playing. It Never Ends... BUT if you let someone borrow your junk, wifey or girlfriend or mom or dad, and they don't know how to drive a rig with a locker, when they hit ice/snow they is so gonna crash that mofo! -Rondo |
