Hello To Everyone, new here. I just bought a 97 Nissan XE Extended Cab. Only 44,000 miles, not too bad. 2.4L and a 5spd, 4x4. Love it so far. Wrecked the old truck through a fence, so I am looking to get a brush guard for the Nissan so it doesnt happen again. I'm wondering if anybody makes a quality brush guard for a 97 Pickup? Also, I would like to have a "prerunner" style like the one on this truck on hawaiianhardbody's truck. I am wondering if I would have to bend and weld one up, or maybe I could buy one?? Thanks.

Welcome to the board big grin

Just to let ya know of your options...

Manik might make something for ya, but don't expect it to hold up to hitting anything. If it's mounted to the bumper, it will bend/break/fall off/not hold up hehe

ARB makes this huge winch bumper for the HB. I love em...$600 for one of those things though frown

I think AC sells a prerunner kinda thing. www.4x4parts.com

I have a nissan-built winch/brushguard and it's held up really well. It's bolted to the frame in two spots.

Seriously, if you wanna still have a front end after hitting something, it's gotta be mounted to the frame.

Good luck big grin

Thanks a lot! That AC website has a ton of cool stuff! I think I will go with the prerunner style they sell. Good price, looks nice, and I think it would help some in a wreck. However, I DONT plan on wrecking this truck. Watch out guys, those fence posts come out of nowhere. big grin Thanks again.

Like Will eluded to...those bolt to the bumper, so it's only as strong as what it's mounted to.

I am looking at buying the AC Prerunner brush guard at the end of this month. I would also like to put a nice set of lights on them when I have it on the truck. Any suggestions on what type and where to buy them? PIAA or Hella, or what? Also, how hard is it to wire up the lights? Thanks alot.

One more question...
A Skidplate would look pretty sweeet under there too. Anybody ever made one for their hardbody? If so, what did u use, how did you make it?? Is there anybody that sells them online? If I were to make one myself, what type of sheetmetal would you use? Thanks again.
