Since, DR is enjoying himself in the driveway dropping his T-Case, I think this is one project I am going to have done by someone else. I know, I know, you do not learn if you pay someone to build your rig. Gears are well beyond me and I do not want to screw it up.

Sooo.... I called around, ABC Nissan would do it for an astronomically high price, Scottsdale Nissan did not quote it, and the most disappointing was 4 Wheelers Supply who refused...even after reading the manual to do it. They are Nissan biased as well it seems.
Desert Rat 4X4 in Tempe offered to do it and knew what I was talking about. They are actually excited to take on the project. They quoted me what I believe to be a fair price. On Tuesday I am dropping it off, so I can have it done.

I am going to take DR's suggestion and sit with them on Tuesday to go over what needs to be done, my expectations, etc.

I will post here to let you know how it went. I am pleasantly surprised by them. If anyone else is considering doing this and wants to use these guys let me know.

I got my case out on Friday and took it to CP in Maricopa. I went to J's place up in Williams for the weekend and came home to voicemail that the CASE IS DONE!

Too bad I won't have time until either Weds or Thurs to go get it.... but I'll start getting it in the truck this weekend.

Carl said it took him a bit longer than expected because it was the first one he did, but that the install went very well.

Hopefully by next Sunday, it's all back together.

I hear ya on the bias problems.. I've been laughed at before. But, last time I went in to 4 Wheelers Supply, they werent too bad and were actually helpful.. they offered to beat ANY price by 10% on stuff for my truck.. What was funny though is that I inquired about the price of my winch.. They wanted $850.. And even with a ton of discounts, it was still $30 more than what I paid ($640!), plus tax.. They said I stole that winch for that price. Smile

Desert Rat (the store, not Andy Smile ) hasnt been bad lately. They loved the Patrol.. and actually liked the Pathfinder too. Still waiting on the inclinometers I ordered though.

I am also looking for Inclinometers, let me know which ones you got. Deseret Rat the store really jumped all over doing these gears. I hear there Tempe location (which is where I am going to get mine done) is better for Nissan people from Mike L. on othe AZXC.

Andy- I am glad to hear yours is done, did Carl say everything went smooth?

Joel called this morning looks like we are going to beat California in getting these installed. Mine should be in by Wed.

Don't think so. Just get under the truck with them and make them understand what goes into getting the case out. Not sure if a Chevy is the same, but you have to fully remove both the tranny and torsion bar crossmembers, so you might want to be sure they put the Tbars back in the way they came out so you can readjust to the correct ride height. Take your frame to ground measurements to them too so they know where to readjust the front suspension to.

Other than that, it's pretty straight forward...just a lot of dissassembly and reassembly of parts.

Anyone gonna "fess-up" and say what they paid for the install?! Smile
Between the gears and install, I could buy the old solid axle 4runner my neighbors selling..
I might think twice. Wink
