What are some companies that make aftermarket parts for the early Patrols? I just bought mine and was kind of wondering what kind of parts I can get for it...

Unfortunately, aftermarket support is next to none... These trucks have been long forgotten. Everyone that sees mine has no idea what it is. Even one of the Nissan dealer parts guys questioned me as to whether it even exists. "Patrol, are you sure thats a Nissan?" Frown

I know there is an individual making replacement rear side window rubber, but thats about it.

One thing I've been told is that brake pads are not made anymore, or are a fortune to get. This is why the previous owner of my Patrol swapped in Ford axles. =/

I've found that if you want any sort of cool aftermarket stuff for your truck, you either have to adapt it from another truck, or fabricate it yourself.

One thing I would suggest.. Start ordering parts catalogs for Jeeps, Broncos, and Scouts. The last 2 are similar in size and some of the items may work with a little modification.

ALso, get in touch with Fudd here on the board. He is the Patrol Guru and may have or may be able to get a line on parts that you need. Also, talk to jmcallis, as he has a line on several parts trucks for parts sources. Unforunately, most new parts are non-existant, have run out, or simply arent being made anymore, so you may have to get creative in your search.

Crud! Thats not good! Im swapping in an Isuzu PUP rear axle, so I will be able to find brakes for the rear... but none for the front... thats gonna be some crap!

I might just swap in a Toyota front axle if it comes down to it...

Mine's got bronco axles front and rear.. goes pretty good. As long as you can match the rear axle gear ratio with the front axle, you'll be ok. One thing you'll need to pay attention to is that the front axle must be slightly wider than the rear. Otherwise, it might get scary on the road. If the yota axle is narrower than the rear axle you are putting in, that may be a problem, unless you run different offset wheels front and rear.

Im pretty sure a Yota front axle is going to be wider than a PUP rear axle.

Thing is, that PUP axle has a centered diff, but a passenger side offset pinion. I saw the rear axle under a patrol once, and it wasnt offset half as much as I had imagined. Im hoping this PUP axle will work. I might have to use a DBL Cardan joint though...
