Not really all that expensive, you couldnt build 2 steering d60's to those specs for that price. A set of steering CTM shafts like that is $3,500 IIRC, you have 2 sets of those and another $1,000 in joints along.

Isn't the equivalent ratio in the 6.1:1 range?
(3.31 in the chunk x 1.86 at the wheel)

Could turn some big meats w/ that.

I would rather have these....

http://www.yuri4x4.com/reduction_hubs.php

I drove a buggy with them and they are fully sick. Can't drive on road with them but he can build sets that are manual locking hubs like f/w hubs or he can even do an air operated system with in cab control.

hefty price tag though at $5k each! He has a set in his comp buggy. Runs C200 axle with front and rear steering, 40" rubber. Never broke anything in like 2years of comps.

Some day I may have a set....lol

I think mechanical lockers are better. No roam for error.

I'm a HUGE fan of selectable lockers...

mechanical lockers are great, too, but on a steering axle, I prefer the selectable locker

Mechanical lockers are great in a rear/non-steering axle. On a steering axle, a selectable locker is far superior. Since both of these are steering axles, they should both have selectable lockers IMO.

I like detroits alot more than ARB's, steering and non steering. If you did your homework you would know that the 35 spline 9" ARB is known for having issues.

I never specified ARB, I just said selectable locker. I would have no reason to do homework on a Ford 9" ARB. If I used a 9" it would be in a rear axle (not on the beast obviously) and I would use a Detroit.

Didnt mean for the post to sound so bad, I was just putting it out there as the reason these axles do not have ARB's. There is no OX locker for 9" axles that I know of either.
