hey whats up everyone im just checking if you think 1" round tubing that is 3/16 thick should be ok for sliders? im sure if i braced it enough it would be fine but id like to hear what u think , normally ive been using 1-1/4" but 1" is so much easier to bend and the bends come out looking alot better

They are helping, 1" is much easier to bend, you said so yourself. So what you have to ask yourself is, do you want your sliders easier to bend? Or harder to bend?

Keep up skippy. The entire point of sliders is to protect your vehicle, right? (This is where you say yes.) If the bend into something resembling an ornamental gate, are they going to do much to protect your vehicle? (This is where you say no.) So, why would you run something that admittedly bends much easier? yeah i know what sliders are , all im asking if they would be strong enough , i have a set of 1-3/4 dom on my truck but the guy im making them up for doesnt wheel hardcore , so 1" wouldnt be strong enough ?

Either he needs sliders, or he doesn't need sliders.
If he doesn't, don't waste the money. If he does, them build them right and don't use shoddy materials. Once again, I WOULD NOT RUN 1" TUBING FOR SLIDERS. A rock meeting a 4000 lb vehicle is a rock meeting a 4000 lb vehicle. If he needs sliders, why would the strength needed change??? 1' 3/16 DOM will work for sliders. if using cold rolled they might not hold up as well. you saw my jeep pulled last week by nothing more the a clevis mounted to 3/16 plate. As for putting in the wrong tread, don't worry Admins can move it.
