thats why i was asking cause the wall thickness on the 1" was the same as the 1-3/4 , and i misread the first 2 posts i apologize , i didnt know what the guys smiley was refering too

1' tubing has 3.14" of surface area and 1-3/4 tubing has 5.5" of surface area. So is it weaker, yes, but it should be strong enough. You may want to brace between the pinch seem and the slider to add more strength. I used a 1x1 box steel between my sliders and pinch seem.

ill go with the bigger of the 2 but does anyone know of a good bender that i dont have spend over 1000 on ?

that is the bad news. most benders are $300 and the dies start at $115 to $300. I now have a bender with a 1 1/2 die. will be a few weeks befor I get it all hooked up. I also will be trying to convert to Hydrolic, so I should be able to do 3/16 with it. -Mr. Goat- One way to fix a jeep is to shoot the driver |
