I like the Shrockworks and ARB a lot better than the Calmini (cosmetically). I agree the bolt on light bar is not very cool. But as far as which one is better, it would probably be near impossible to tell. They are all good bumpers, a hell of a lot better than the stock ones! Just my $0.02.

Hi all, as far as the wings go, we attacked it from two angles. First they are cut back further (front-to-rear) and are shorter (horizontally) to give more clearance for big tires and prevent contact in the first place. You can see it pretty well here:

Second, the shape of them makes them stronger than many of the others I've looked at. They are more of a "C" channel shape vs a flat vertical piece of metal. You can stand right on the tip of it with all your weight and it doesnt flex at all. Some I've looked at, you can flex back and forth easily by hand.

Nicely illustrated, Jim... Smile

Quite right, too - there are no large tire clearance issues with this bumper and it definitely is beef. There isn't any part of it that flexes or gives in my experience so far.

NOTE: That stock tow hook is long gone. Not needed any longer and just gets in the way (possibly snagging on stuff and/or breaking).

I still love that bumper. You know what would make that bumper just a little cooler would be a reciver for a highlift on each side of the thing. I know there is one in the front but that way you could get just one front tire off at a time.... Of course it would take away from the sleek design a bit but just cut a small square in the side and throw a peice of box steel in there, it would not be bad especially if you made a little cap to put in it or something. Heck you could even sell a little fold down step that could slide into the reciever for getting up higher to work on the truck... I know it is a pain trying to get to my plugs etc without a stool these days. I usually end up sitting on the edge of my buper. Just a random thought Smile.

Actually, there is no receiver on the front of this bumper... But that isn't a bad idea if you occasionally use a portable winch, for example. The problem is, the bumper is pretty high up and you'd have to have one helluva drop hitch to use it.

Just stand on the bumper if you need to - I have... Smile

Bumper does look good and stout. I've just never been a fan of Bull Bar type bumpers, or Low Profile type bumpers either for that matter. I prefer the Pre-Runner bumper myself.

I know this thread is old but wanted to say I put the shrockworks bumper on my 2004 Frontier in the spring and added a winch this summer. So far I love the looks and feel of this bumper. Also I get a lot of looks and comments. Hope to see you all soon so I can show it off. Thanks.
