Greg, I have been told recently(uh, like 5 seconds ago) that there's a difference in the lengths of HB and pathy torsion bars, so that x-member where the tbar adjusters are sitting is in a different spot on the 2 models. Wink

Yup the x-over pipe is the lowest of the lot. Oddly enough I've never whacked it hard enough to bend it tho the heat shields are long gone. I've always figured I don't need anything that falls off the truck. I'll have them tucked once I get some thorleys, If I get skids forst.....well thats what the BFH is for. Big Grin

Well, producing skids will more than likely be to fit on stock vehicles so nothing other than minor drilling is required. If I get 5 orders for skids that are flatter to go where the x-over pipe is, I can probably work something out like that as well, because I can take the x-over pipe off my 93 HB and make something for that. The front diff still hangs down below the x-member, so it will have to be built around that too. The thing to remember though, even if you lose 1/2" of ground clearance, you will slide much easier and won't be getting hung up like before. It is impossible to build them and not lose any GC unless other mods are done such as lift the front diff....which I may look into, but that will put MORE stress on the cv's and there is enough on them already. I'll keep working on it and see what I come up with. Thanks,
Greg

If you are making skid plates for WD21 will the attaching bolts be recessed so they wont be exposed? Dont think it would be to hard to do if you are spacing the skids down anyway.

As of now, I am plannign on using counter-sunk heads...totally flat. I wouldn't want my stuff to get hung up on anything, so I don't expect any customers to either. They will be standard hardware, not extra like most companies.

Something that hasn't been mentioned, though I know a company in Lexington, KY is about to get them out, is a U-bolt reversal kit for the H233B axle. I wouldn't think this would be too hard to come up with. But getting a couple of inches of clearence under the axle is ALWAYS a good thing!

U bolts that hold the axle to the frame... Anyway, at least on the SOA versions, the bolts bolt from underneath. So there's a plate, and the shock mount, lower than the axle itsself. If you can flip that plate, so the U part of the bolt is on the underneath, then none of that is hanging lower than the axle.

Granted, none of this is lower than the pumpkin, but an errant rock can always hit this stuff. To flip it, it should just be a matter of making a plate with 4 holes, and a shock mount. But that's probably over-simplified.

that can be done. i'll take a look at it in a couple of weeks. U-bolts are a bit pricey, so that's where cost comes from, but I can get them custom made for a decent price and pass the savings on.

Piscator, the Ubolt kit would be for pickups, not Pathfinders. Pickups have leaf springs out back.

Greg, did you get my check yet? Startin' to get anxious for those sliders, 'cause I did some more damage over the weekend.

Which reminds me, is it possible to make a slider from the back of the rear fender wall to the bumper? Or would it be easiest to make a rear bumper with wings that come forward to guard there? Only ask 'cause I managed to clip the bed underneath the driver's side taillight, and I'm starting to think I need some protection there.
