You and me both buddy. I been looking for a while. L&P used to port and polish them (they claimed 10hp gain)you could polly have a machine shop do that for you.
other than that I think your are out of options unless....
you want to modify your manifold and your air box to accept a Holley TBI conversion kit (desgneed to convert carb'd ford and chevys to TBI) Its the hard and expensive way but the correct kit for your displacemnt will give you optimal air opening and something like a fully programable 60-point fuel curve. off of its own fuel computer. I don't know how your stock ecu will react to having its TPS, MAF and O2 sensor unpugged but hey. like I said, I'd be a big project.

If anone has had any better Ideas I'd be thrilled to see them 'cause other wise I'm just gonna leave my TBI alone.

Does www.4x4parts.com have anything?

If you really want to make your own ecu, try Megasquirt. My friend is soldering one up in the next room right now. It can handle fuel or ignition or both.

DIY kits can be bought here: http://www.diyautotune.com/

That's what I run on my K5. I'm running the 4bbl, but I will be converting it to TPI eventually, the Holley Commander 950 will run just about any combination you can think of.

Why would you need the stock computer if you were running the Holley?

Heh, I don't know what else is controled by the stock computer and how it would be effected.
I guess that would be one less thing to worry about then anyway.

If you had a newer automatic, the transmission would be controlled by the computer. But since you've got a manual I doubt anything else would be hooked up to it.

The big question is WHY? My TBI is providing my 3.3 all the fuel it wants and then some. What do you think you're going to gain?

I DONT WANT TO GET RID OF THE tbi I JUST WANT TO GET RID OF THE AIR BOX ON THE TOP AND MAKE SOMETHING MORE SIMPLE LIKE A TUBE DESIGN WITH A FILTER ON IT

OK OK A Few things...
1 CAPS LOCK is like yelling ARE you yelling at us?
2 if you are, we're only tying to help, I'm sorry I took your thread in the wrong direction and you got all the wrong answers but it but it did take you a week to post back and set us straight.

3 I have not seen or heard of any aftermarket intake (like a K&N or VLOANT intake sysetem) for the TBI motors. The system would have to have a new way of regulating the vacum line for the hot air pickup (or just bypass it all together) and (somone correct me if I'm wrong) but I belive that becuase of the way the TBI system works, with the injectors on top of the TB instead of in the mainfold like in MPFI that any "simple like a tube design" may be less efficient and hurt your performance.
maybe some of the other guys will have better input now that we know your looking for a K&N style intake system.
