I know that you probably get many requests for various parts and here is another one. While I ask though I would like to give you the whole picture.
My request is for gears. Currently, Nissan owners can get gears but they must originate from Nismo. Now this would be fine if Nismo gave a damn, or you did not have to wait 3-5 months for a set to go through customs. I'm not even going to start with the $450-$650 price tag. So after you go through all this, you finaly get your gears and realize that they are made for the older housings and require a sleeve to make them work in your 95 & up H233B chunk. Now I have read that a group of Isuzu guys got together and called Tera mfg. They made a bulk order and got what they needed. I have written tera but I may not be a big enough name for them to reply. Is there a vendor out there who is willing to invest a little money and get a production run of gears to sell to us little guys? Hell, I would not mind paying $400 (I'd rather pay less though)for a set that was specificly made for my rear end. To have my order within a week of placing it would be top notch!!! So maybe one of you vendors or all of you team up and get us some gears. It may be to late for me, but I know there are others. I might even keep or switch back to the H233B if I got some news. Thanks for listening. Lator..... |

Could not agree with you more Gator. Cheap gears for the front and rear diffs would mean a lot to the Nissan world.

quote: Guys, they're already in the works. Just let it happen. The differnce in price from the Nismo stuff will be substantial. I'm thinking 5.14 as the first ratio. The reason for not going deeper than 5.14 is that 5.38 is not only a bad design in terms of individual tooth mass, but it's also over 23% lower than the 4.36 that come in manual trans models. 5.14 is a good design, and matches well with Dana conversions. Let me know if you are thinking differently. Steve Kramer CALMINI Products Inc. |

5.14s should work really well.. I know Andy's [desert rat] been happy with the set in his Frontier. I personally could use the gearing as well, since my Pathy is rather sluggish now, even with the 4.62 gears. Combined with the crawler gears, the 5.14s would make a tremendous difference in the truck behavior, on and off the road.

Thank you for taking time to listen and reply Steve. Right now, I am at a cross-road as whether to go Dana 60 or wait it out. I've got a great quote for a 60 cut to size and am thinking it may be the way to go. I am sorry for being pushy, but if I were to know how long, I may be persuaded to wait a little longer and keep my H233B.
5.14's would be perfect. I already have that ratio in my dana 44 front axle that will be swapped in soon. On another note, I have no need for them, I know Terra dows make a ring & pinion for the C200 (R200 as well) diff. So the front is taken care of. for the most part. Take a look around at thier site. Even though I have my Nismo gears and wouldn't be a customer unless these wear out or break, I know alot more guys would regear and keep the H233b if there was a less expensive set to buy from.
Just want to echo that I think it's great that a company is taking the time to listen to us and build the parts we want/need. |

Steve, I know this is as worthless as it sounds, but I can't find it either. I swear I saw it there a couple of wqeeks ago. It was under the low range gearing, all it was was a listing and a detail giving a description. I'm not sure if they have just updated thier site or not. I will continue to look, if I find it, I will let you know. I am sorry I did not double check to make sure it was still in there before I posted that.
