The chain that sends power over to the front output has nothing to do with the reduction, it's not a factor.

But to answer that question - yes. The chain width got narrower somewhere in the 2001 model year.

I probably won't get so far as doing the install next week...even if I do have the gears. I'll definitely need a hand dropping out the case. Have never opened up a Tcase before so I'll be studying manuals and instructions a lot before I even attempt this. That's too much $$ to screw something up.

Duerk, You got an auto. That should help you keep up. These gears are an equalize for my 4 banger and clutch Big Grin

If that's the case, I think the T-case I have is the wrong one dammit. I bought a TX-10A off of JoeyS, he was told it was from a '91 V6 when he bought it, but it has 24 splines. I have yet to get the tranny I needed but now I may be back to square one again. Argh.

You might give Calmini a call and ask for Steve to clarify that, but that is my understanding. Not sure if those shafts are swappable.

MVM, are you sure? He has a V6 transmission....and what appears to be a 4 banger case...

I'm confused. Need an expert to clear this one up.

Yes, DR has my situ figured out. I 'will' be putting a V6 4x4 tranny in, and I need to know for sure if the 'case I have is going to mate. Right now the truck is 2wd, but the front end is finally going to be on it's way this coming week and I'm trying to get the rest of the pieces together now. Dang it there's always something.

Ordered my T-case gears once I find an installer, Probably Desert Rat Offroad or a dealership, unfortunately not ABC they want like $200 an hour, then they will be in!

Unfortunately, I'll have to pass on this one. I'll order next year when i have $$ again! Smile Calmini should have the Slip-Yoke Eliminator out by the time I have money for gears too.

Xcetra, I found us installers. Apparently a shop press is one of the tools needed for the install. I have friends that will do the install for $200 - bring him the Tcase. They're out in Maricopa and have mucho experience tinkering with our trucks (can you say Project X?)

Let me know if you want to go this route. Think you can get your own Tcase out?
