Definatly dont suggest they go with AC. They like the way they currently have the market cornered on them, and they are probably making a healthy profit on their 5.14s.

Last time I talked to Steve at calmini, he said he wanted to look into making them, so they may be worth a shot.

Calmini, Napa, AutoZone, AutoValue, those would all be great distributers.

Aside from the high price AC charges, there's nothing wrong with what they sell. I know several axles running around with AC 5.14 gears in them.

No there not, they are getting them from Nissan, and it is nissan that is expensive. The local gear shop I use also sells gears for the h233 and it is near the same price. The extra cost is for machining to make the ring gear fit, and that is about the same as the gear
shop charges anyway.

There is only one manufacturer of R&P for nissans, and that is Nissan. Just for refrence Mossy Nissan in poway wants the same price for gears as AC wants, they are a NISMO retailer or some crap like that.

Again, there is no machining done to the ring gear on AC's 5.14 gears. The pinion is machined.
Nissan only makes the 5.14 gears in the "early" version. AC modifies the pinion so they'll fit the later third-members.

OK whatever Roll Eyes, the point is that AC is not making large sums of money off of the gears.

Mr. Nguyen:

The following companies you listed are part of our Distributor network. Perhaps you can get them to invest in 50 sets of ring and pinions. As of now, we do not have a requirement for this application.

As noted earlier, we can only manufacture in lots of 50 -- 100 sets.

guys, does Calmini know about this? I'd think this'd be something they'd like to get in on. If they would price them in the same range as other richmond gear sets, I'd buy a set today.

H233B rear, R200A front. That's the most popular Nissan configuration (thanks to the Xterra). If somebody made those gears for around $300 apeice, I'd definately be in.

Anyone contact Yukon gears yet?
Randy's Ring and Pinion (800)347-1188
I talked with them they would need a order of t least 10,000 before they would produce anything like that.
I highly doubt a order like that would happen though.
I dunno if I had a nissan again I would have no issues of just getting rid of my h233 and putting a toyota axle under there. It's just about the same strength. It's alot less expensive alot more locker and gear options including 5.71's.
It just seems like too much $$ to get gears for the darn things even if they are stronger.

Hey another thought maybe you guys can contact a austrailian offroad dealer that sells gears for nissan and arrange some kind of group buy to get some for the h233 cheaper.

I still would contact that iceland company that sells nissan gears. Has anyone even attempted to contact them????

Yeah but the machining that they are doing is obviously not worth the premium they charge especially since they DO NOT bolt into our carriers as they claim. That and technical support from them about these gears is almost non existant. The fact that I'm going to have to machine a spacer to make these $625 "bolt in" gears work, makes me sick.

I get employee price on all of my Nissan parts at the local Nissan dealership.

My price on the NISMO ring and pinion gear sets are $450 each, same price AC is offering.
