i said Hrew was weaker, and from the research i did there is a big difference between hrew and dom everybody uses dom for exo cages

It is weaker but it isn't going to make much of a difference on sliders. I'd say more than half of the sliders out there are made of HREW. As long as they are braced correctly they will be just fine.
