Garbacho did a demo with his and actually needed to use it to weld part of his steering on the run we did here recently.

It's pretty damn nice too. I think his friend owns the company too(mobi-arc).

I wouldn't mind owning one.

AC has started selling a whole bunch of stuff. I noticed Shrockworks sliders and skid on there, along with Skid Rows products as well.

Kickass.. its about time AC stepped up to the plate.. I'd like to see them offer Calmini and SLR components alongside their own as well.. Then they would definitely be THE Nissan aftermarket distributor.

I really like the mobi-arc unit.. Would be pretty handy. The only problem is keeping an alternator running with it.. a $500 high output alternator would probably get trashed pretty quick here with all the sandy/dirty water crossings.. I know my stock alternator isnt very happy with me right now.

I think you can get pretty good results w/ just 110 amp altenator.

Because of the high frequency (100 Khz I htink)of the arc you get a much better weld at lower amperage than 60hz ac, or straight dc, at least that's my understanding.
Hey Sean, What did Broadway Electric bump out your alternator current to?

I think it's pretty sweet that AC is steeping up to the plate and offering alot more products as well.

The more stuff the better for us. smiley17

Yeah...I had a double wound stator installed that bumped up the amperage by about 20%. Not a huge increase but not expensive either.

I think that as long as your not running a winch, amp, lights etc, all at the same time, you wont have a problem.

The new stator cost $50. As for installation, I had Scott at Mobi-Arc take care of that.

You might want to email Mike at AC or Scott at Mobi to get the details on what is needed to complete the alterantor.

Would the new stator work for upping the power for accesories and not just the welder?

You got it bille! You want to ask for "Rick". Tell him that your interested in upgrading your alternator for a Mobi-arc and he'll know what to do from there.
