Just asking ANY of the vendors to step up to the plate and make us some beefy motor mounts and tranny mounts.

They break in both the 21/22 seriers trucks quite easily.

Any takers?

I wonder how hard that would be. Just a couple of broke up parts with a big ass pin in the middle and holes on both sides for mounting, or is there some sort of rubber padding that needs to be invovled?

I don't mind how they do it, just need something that won't snap like a toothpick.

I'm actually gonna order spares. I broke em' on my old HB and I know it is a matter of time before the ones on the pathy go, especially after seeing how easily Joel's broke.

A winch is a nice thing to have when that happens. One broke on the Calmini X at GONE and we wrapped the winch around under the truck to the engine block to hold the motor in place. The next day they ran Golden Spike with it that way.

Yeah, you gotta give Rob credit for that idea though and Jim was the one who did it on the Calmini truck.

Yep. We all thought Robbie was nuts when he did it first. But then Robbie has done a lot of things first.....ford coils, welded front, winch motor mount, snorkle, painted everything yellow.....

Yeah, I did some reading on the AC board and found the first posts about ford coils. Funny how big that turned out to be.

I called ABCNissan, and they are $80. Nissanwholesaleparts.com quoted me $92. Stock will have to do until there is a better option out there.

I also called Steve at Calimini, he said he "will look into it"

It may be possible to modify the stock mounts.. Say with some sort of hook mechanism or even just a bit of chain welded to the mounts. There would be enough slack that it wouldnt affect normal driving, but under extreme drivetrain stress, the chain would tension and prevent the mount from breaking.

It would give the strength and some characteristics of a solid mount but without the drawbacks. You would probably get some engine vibration transmitted through the chassis when the chain does tension up, but it would be a small price to pay.

The drivers side would be the only side that needs to be modified.

Can anyone post a picture of the stock mount. I have built quite a few high-strength motor mounts out of stock mounts for other cars. If the design is similar I might be able to do the same. Worth a shot.....

Well you can see the week point. Looks similar to the ones on the R-50 Red Face If anyone could send me their broken motor mount I would pay for shipping.
