Why not build on a pivot (like aftermarket Chevy mounts) w/a 5/8" polyurethane spring eye bushing to cut back on vibration? As soon as I learn how to weld, that's one of my first projects!

I'm sick of shitty designed OEM parts with no aftermarket support. I broke my second motor mount yesterday going up a hill. Average lifetime of a motor mount in my truck is 10,000 miles. This sucks, but I was asking for it. This hill is my personal demon. Of all the obstacles in the Tuttle Creek ORV park, this is the only one I can't get up. I was on a muddy slope at 35 degrees with rocks and roots sticking out on the slope. I wrapped the winch around the mount and took it easy the reast of the day.

Someone needs to just weld up some sections of chain to bridge the sides of the mount.. Weld the chain in so that it is slack with the mount in place.. When tension is placed on the mount, the chain will tighten up and relieve stress on the rubber portion of the mount. Something like this is the only thing that could be done easily to provide some measure of protection.

I've got a pair of 5/8" polyurethane spring eye bushings. Now all I need I need is some 1/8" wall tubing to stick them in, and some 1/4" steel plate, and two 5/8" bolts (and some badly needed welding skills!).
