Im thinking of getting the NISMO from AC parts. Wondering if anyone knows where to get it cheaper? Or has input to what they have and how they like it? I figure it's NISMO, so it can't really get any better than that!

For that price, get the snorkel. Nice cold outside air!

How is that a cold air intake?

Never said it was a cold air intake. But with a snorkel you're not sucking in air from within the engine bay (hot air). You're getting your air from outside (cooler air). And if you live in Arizona in the summer, there is not such thing as a cold air intake "Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." - Words of Wisdom |

i would go with a less expensive brand, but i figure since this is made FOR the truck, it's going to give me the best performance!?

what they're saying is there's nothing shown there to seperate the engine bay heat from being drawn into the intake.. a true CAI, draws air from an external source. Look into VOLANT as the best for your truck, or Stillen. Volant's a closed box type, the Stillen's open but comes with a heatshield.
Ultimately, a snorkel fed Volant is the way to go.. If it has tits or tires, you're gonna' have problems... I got your jeep thing, now it burns when I pee... |

the Nismo intake is a VERY good unit (and come with a heat sheild, too...at least for the titan, it did)
but a snorkel is the best way to go... I wish the snorkels for my truck weren't $500+ 2005 Nissan Titan 4X4 with some mods... |

If you wheel anywhere near water or wet mud, a CAI is a stupid idea.

not trying to start an argument, but why? I've had one on my last 3 vehicles (and mud/water is pretty much all we have here...ha) and theres never been a problem... its a good power increase... and a GREAT mpg saver (On my v8, anyway...) it def not stupid, unless you hit every mud/water hole a 20mph+ (which is really stupid... haha) but when snorkels and CAI's are the same price, its stupid not to go with the snorkel unless you dislike the look or the idea of cutting the fender... but for me, the most expensive CAI on the market is $300, and a snorkel is $500+... haha 2005 Nissan Titan 4X4 with some mods... |

i have one on my 4x4, never had a prob. mines been soaked before but not submerged. the location of where mine is at is higher then the lowest intake of the stock box.
i think they suck on 4 cyl's unless you run till redline on every shift. my v6 loves it though. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the STOCK intake a cold air intake? It is on the d21/wd21's, at least. It is on the Titan, too.
2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |
