Fezz, you can get a locker for your axle. ARB and Lockrite both make a locker for your 31 spline H233B. For the ARB, go to www.4x4parts.com

Well you were on the money on that prediction..
My little elbow piece of crap blew on me today. I was lucky enough to be able to limp home.

So.. any pointers on how to get that damn thing off? And did you replace those hated spring clamps with the ones that can be tightend with a screw driver? Also.. I am guessing that this is a dealer only part.

Bastards..

I think putting the new one on is the hard part. I know John picked it up from the dealer, the stupid little hose was like $20.

We wetted it down with antifreez to lubricate it and used a screw driver to help coax it on. I was trying to keep the bottom in place while John coaxed it on. I can't remember if there was a trick to finally getting it on or if we just finally got it worked on there...

Did you reuse the crappy spring clamps or did you replace them with the screw down type?

I used some high quality hose clamps. Those little spring clamps can only be used once or twice and are a pain to get on there. The nice thing about band style hose clamps is that you can use a nut driver to position AND tighten the clamp at the same time.

If i remember correctly, we put both the clamps on the hose before we put it in. It was a real PITA. Worst hose i've ever had to replace.

As far as removal. Dismantle as much as you can on the front of the engine. I pulled all the belts, the idler pulley and its mount. I didnt want to open up the timing belt for fear of getting coolant on it. I sliced the side of the old one with my pocketknife and pulled it off that way. Theres no easy way to get it off in one peice, so I just cut it off.

Then, put 2 clamps on the new hose, dunk it in antifreeze, and then work it on there. It took a 2 person effort here to get both the bottom and the side of it lined up. I remember carefully prying and coaxing it into place with a medium size screwdriver to get the hose around the fittings. I believe we put the hose on the bottom fitting first and then worked the other end (side) into place. It took me about 6-7 hours to change it over the course of several days.
