Just wanted to say that I had a blast at GONE. This was my first chance to 4wheel with so many other Nissan owners and it was quite an education for me.

I was most pleasantly surprised that noone whined, not once not ever. Everyone tackled the trails with finesse and in some cases, lots of throttle haha. There were some white knuckle moments but everyone wheeled with confidence. I loved passing all those broken jeeps, samuraiis and that one competition rock crawler! Their looks at all the Xterras and Nissans passing them up was so worth it!!!!!!

It was great to talk to the Nissan technicians as well. I'd never before really talked to anyone who worked outside a Nissan dealership. They were friendly and informative.

Finally, i'm glad to know that i'm not the only Nissan freak in the country. I've owned three 720s, a pathfinder, and now my Frontier. I think a Xterra will be on the horizon for the wife to be. My Nissan toy collection is over 100 pieces. It's not an obsession, just that I know a great company when I see it.

Last word, some of you guys are darn right nuts!! I recall at least two Xs nearly rolling off of tipover challenge, a newer pathfinder throttling right up (bro you are awesome!), and others who just have the driving skill to make up for no lockers.

With my 35s and lockers it was easy for me to cruise up the harder stuff but i suspect that with some of the skill i saw at GONE, you guys could do anything a jeep could do if you only had a front locker.

Great job!

Rondo's case isn't converted. Mine is, but I got the 4 banger.

Rondo, it was a pleasure meeting you as well. If you're ever down AZ way, look us up and we'll have a SWANKy run.

BTW, i'll get my pics up tonight if I have the time. Got a chitload of them. I got some killer shots of your truck too.

Hi Andy
thanks bud and it was great to meet you also. You drove like you been to moab a 100 times already. Great driving skill.
I'd love to come down to Arizona to wheel with everyone some time. I've even been looking for an excuse to move there one of these days. Maybe when the military is done with me i'll think about it more. I've been through Phoenix once before and it was great.
Orange: you are the man! Fearless at Moab!
Bille: sorry my motor mounts held up fine, had no breakage at all. My truck doesn't have/doesn't need the 4:1 t-case conversion. The automatic works great at Moab.

Rondo, Great to wheel with you buddy, you and your copilot were instrumental for me on several occasions. To bad the ATVer did not think so as he feel off the side of the mountain doing a stupid manuever. I look forward to wheeling with you guys again.

Xcetra,
that was so damn funny! I mean yeah he was being ignorant and could have got himself killed, but i watched him to make sure he got up and that's why i kept on driving. the funny thing was his buddy was what, 3 miles down the road and didn't even act like he cared two cents about him when we told him haha

and it was great to wheel with you too. You're a hell of a driver, especially in the rain on the slick rock!

take it easy

If anyone is interested, I have finally had a chance to post 2 completed videos of footage I compiled from goneMOAB '03.

They are located at the following temporary URL:
http://host58.ipowerweb.com/~xplorx4c/gonemoab03/videos/

So far I've only done Monday's Sevenmile Rim trail run (including Wipeout Hill) and Saturday's Potato Salad Hill, including Carlton's footage of the rollover.

I'm still working on Hell's Revenge and Golden Spike, and an overall "gonemoab" intro (as well as finalizing my new domain for hosting.

Let me know what you think!
