Before leaving town on Saturday, we stopped at Potato Salad hill to watch the carnage. I took a bunch of shots too, but here's J's...

There was a 4 runner that tried and tried and couldn't climb it. On his last attempt, the brakes may have failed coming back down and he plowed a cherry FJ right in the front bumper with the rear of the 4 runner at better than 20 mph backwards. It demolished the back of the 4runner and the dude in the FJ was pissed, but he didn't take much damage. He got back in the FJ and took it up the hill.

There was also a Hummer that tried it BACKWARDS! He made it about 1/3 the way up and broke a halfshaft

Then there was this guy in the CJ7. He did really well until the top where he got a little sideways and then....




Then they uprighted it after 2 rolls...

BAH! I rolled worse than that. Too bad those Heeps are tin and it crumpled the body so bad. I just kicked out the windshield and drove home. I would have loved to see that though, maybe S&T will have a bit of excitement like that.

Those things on the trail are like watching a very capable school bus.

Saw a couple Mogs on the Golden Spike trail. Pretty cool. They were so big that they didn't have too much trouble on anything. There was a cherry Kaiser M-715 pickup running with them that I drooled over (Think of a 1 1/4 ton Honcho pickup with D70 axles!)

In fact, during the EJS, I saw more crazy rides than I've ever seen anywhere.

Remember this? This thing stayed at our campground. The owner was a really nice guy. The thing runs a V10 and 3 Rockwells with 6.72:1 gearing!

Where is potato sald hill?

SWEET! Bummer I missed the last half. What an awesome place.

Potato Salad Hill is right down the road from the Moab Landfill and about a half mile from the entrance to the park where Hells Revenge, Lions Back, and Dump Bump are just east of town.
