Yeah, he was out there from Canada. He only ran on trail that I was there for. Pretty sweet though.

The Patrol was out of BC, Canada. Very rare there too. It's a '91 with about a quarter million miles on it and C200's front and rear. They clearly use a different case, as both diffs were offset to the passenger side. The guys driving it were cool to boot.

Looks like you boys had a seriously Kick Ass time! I love all the pics I'm seeing and keep checking all the boards constantly for new ones. Smile

Also gotta comment on how cool it is to see that new of a patrol bashing the trails. Were they part of the 'Gone' scene or were they there on their own?

They ran a couple of the trails with us....Hells revenge and steel bender. Not sure if they did metal masher on Friday, as I didn't go on that run - I needed to play tourist for one day up there.

And there was Jorge that drove from New Jersey. I didn't feel too bad about 13 hours each way after that.

Yes, but it seems Carlton has a lot of time on his hands. I'd be touring all over the country too if I could.

Hey all.

DR.. it was good to finally meet you. :-)

I am not back home yet so my pics will have to wait a few days before they grace the internet. Dork

I have some great images and video of most everyone that came to GONE. I will be making a video of the entire event (much like the GOX thing)

Anyway. I am glad that no one had any major trail damage (and those with damage we were able to get them off the trail) and that eveyone seems to have made it home safely.

No, Thank YOU! Razz

It was good meeting you too Carlton. I think it should be a requirement that everyone who talks to each other on the boards meet each other in person at some point. I honestly enjoyed everyone's company up in Moab and am glad I got the opportunity to meet everyone I met.

If you're in the AZ neck of the woods sometime, let us know and tag along on a SWANKy run. If nothing else we'll keep your tires clean Chug

Xcetra, It was really good meeting you. Have you looked into standup comedy?

I'm planning to go to GOX this fall. My girlfriend suggested that we cut it short and head to Moab for the end of that week. Any takers?

Muchas Gracias on the comedy, I just like everyone laughing and having a good time.

I just got off the phone with the shop trying to extract the broken Warn studs out of my hub. They said there wasn't anything they could do. Not enough was left to get a grip on and they couldn't drill out the ones with broken extractors. They want to install a new hub at $154 for parts and 4 hours labor. I got one from Xterra Parts for $134 and I can install it myself.

For those that weren't there. Ian, Xcetra and myself all broke Warn supplied studs holding the manual hubs to the hub assembly. I broke 6 on the driver side and one on the passenger side. Ian broke 6 on the passenger side of his and Xcetra broke one.

Does this make me the one with the most expensive repair bills from gone?

Not sure about the pricey repairs...my check engine light is on, so God knows what it'll take to deal with that.

That's just crazy though. They've obviously got problems with those things. The right thing to do would be to get the right length allen bolts and not use the stud/nut combo.

This is just a thought and I'd appreciate any comments. I'm going to try drilling out my buggered up hub and tap it for a larger bolt. The way mine broke looks like a fatigue failure, if the hub gets a little loose, the stud can flex a little between the rear face of the locking hub and where the thread begins inside. I want to drill it out so the hole in the hub is threaded all the way.
