As the topic says, hello from Jalisco Mexico. I'm the new owner of an old 4x4 and want to learn some stuff about the nissans, the 4wheelin' and my truck capabilities.

I guess there are many places around my city to test my truck, but I don't have many contacts yet.

ok, let's read and learn.

My truck and me:

I've seen many hot rides and pics around.

regards
Enrique

Thanks for your comments Smile

and tbecktold, if i'm getting the right sense of your question (i'm not good in english) the truck is a std 5 speed, if you are talking about some transfer stuff I ignore everything.

just got the truck some weeks ago, and as I see it's fully stock. But there are not many 4x4 nissans to compare, I only have seen about 4 like mine in a month. (mine came from Colorado)

After reading some posts here I got a little paranoic about rust, and sadly found some spots in the bed, behind the wheels, and in the driver's side rear fender. The frame looks good. Nothing to worry about I guess, but it's there.

i'm planning to go to the "Sierra de Tapalpa" this weekend in an offroaders' excursion to learn some basics and hope to share some pics.

Again, Welcome.

What he meant was the gearing in your rear axle.

You said that the truck was a US truck, so you'll have a code on the sticker around the driver door. (at least on the d22 thats where it is, someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

If you don't know what I'm talking about with D22; You have a D21, that is the name of the chassis, the model after D21 is the D22 (sold in the states from 1998 until 2004). The current truck sold in the US is called the D40.

thanks dieselwillie,

as i said, i'm new in the 4x4, so I don't know about the gearing of the axle...

i'm working now and my truck is several blocks away, but i'll look for that sticker to see the code. in the code is the gearing specified?

were this pick ups sold with different rear axles from factory? if so, what are the benefits of them?

I appreciate all the inputs
regards and thank you all for the welcome.

Que paso Enrique!

We'll for the rest of you; my truck has officially been imported to Mexico. I will be wheeling it further south in the coming years.

I’ll see if I can bring it over to Phoenix for a run this summer.

Bienvenido! Yo tengo una Hardbody singlecab muy parecida a la tuya (97 XE). A ver si nos vemos por Chihuahua un dia de estos!

Saludos!

Hi Checo!!!

are you from chihuahua?

compraste y legalizaste tu HB o te veniste a vivir acá?

he's got the XE-V6 5-speed. They came with 4.3 gears in the rear axle.

Clean truck.

hi Lordbiotree!!

actually she has the 2400 12 valves std 5 speed, i guess the stickers doesn't match to the real version. i use to drive a turbo and i feel it very slow...

what axle uses the 2.4 more often?
