Went to the pomona, ca off road expo today.. found a guy that will make the adapters to bolt up an atlas, stak4x4, or any other t-case with that bolt pattern.

doesn't need a minimum order but i want to get a feel for how many i should be thinking of making.

who would be up for one of these?

i will be returning to the expo in the morning so please reply ASAP .. i would just send the guy an e-mail but it's soo much easier to talk to the design guy face to face. let me know.

There are a few who are talking but it will be the 1st guy who reaps the benifits. Now this adapter will it bolt to the low range box of our t-cases or would it replace the complete TX10? There are guys who will want the cheapest way to lower gears and the guys who will spend the money for quality stuff. I would go the route of which would require the least fabbing. So if a adapter for a atlas case will save me having to fab up some linkage to work, I will go with the adapter.

i have been reading up on the other posts and i know some people want to keep the tx-10 but the least complicated way out would be to replace the tx-10 with another case which is what my adapter will be for.

and now that i think about it .. i probably posted this in the wrong section so any moderators on right now might want to move it to the proper section.

I would rather go this route than double transfer cases and would buy one if it was reasonably priced and well built. Do any of the Atlas or Stak cases have compatable spline/shaft to mate with our tranny ouput (4cyl or V6)?

Nah, this is in the right forum.

that's my question....does it replace the TX10, and what about different input shaft spline counts?

I would be up for one w/in the next 3-5 years (too many expenses already, and this phase of the Project isn't yet complete anyway). But yes, a Stak 3 speed or Atlas 4 speed is on my want list later to flatten my belly and give the benifits of dual/triple cases in a smaller package.

I really don't see this as being feasible. A tx10/d300 doubler would do the same thing, at a third of the cost, if that. $2895 for a 4 speed atlas? $2650 for a 3 speed stak? Since you have to buy an adapter for either version, I'm not going to count that into cost You buy a d300 4:1 kit for $600 (on the high side), case for $200 (easily done). You now have $800 into it. you have 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, 8:1. You can't count shifters, as they aren't included with the others, either. D300 with 4:1 and twinsticks commonly sell for $6-800. Ijust see no point in going atlas or stak, myself.

I sent Duffy at DD machine a v6 case last week, should be about 2months now till we have our doubler. Keep an eye on pirate.

You do have to realize though, with machining the lower the volume the higher the cost. Yeah the material might not cost much, but design, setup and fixturing cost are what eats you. In high volume cases, these costs can be spread over many more units so the majority of the cost becomes material and machining.

as far as I know tx10-d300, I'm sure sirmanguy will confirm if that's right. I'll just go back to the divorced 205. If it's a tx10-x10 adapter, count me out. I see no reason to add that length, keep a weak chain (with now double the torque on it), have a slip yoke (or $200 elminator), half ton u joints, no twin stick capability, and 4:1 gears that cost twice as much. Plus, if you don't have one, a tx10 costs as much as a d300.

Keep in mind, this is not using the whole tx10...the tx10/d300 doubler will only be 2-4" longer than a tx10, I bet. Also, unless they build one hell of an extension for the atlas/stak, it'll be too damn short to even run on an sas rig, expecially with much suspension travel. It should be at least as long as the stock case, if not longer.

I would like a tx10-tx10 adapter, as I need alot of length added. Right now my front drive shaft is at 27* on flat ground and moving it back would decrease that.
The chain would be the downfall. From what I've seen in the last few weeks you sure wouldn't want to use one on an 01 and newer tx10. I read where the chain is 1 1/2" wide, try more like 1 3/8".
But as far as price, I bought one the same night I broke mine for $75 off of Ebay, and was lucky enough to have a truckdriver friend of mine driving through the same town the next day.

Basicly I sent him the case and said, make the one that you think will be easiest to make and easiest for the end user to install, so it would sell well and make him some profit. On here it seemed everyone wanted tx10/tx10, but everyone on pirate wanted the tx10/300, so I didnt feel right telling him to make the one I want more.

The 300 is a narrow case, both robby (on pirate) and fivetenben, the only two peopel I know of that built tx10/300 adapters, both said that they had to make a fairly long adapter, about 6in total) to get the front driveline to clear the tx10.

So if you have any preferences, call him, number is on pirate, and voice your oppinion.

I shipped the tcase on the 5th, it should arive on the 12th. Here is the fedex number if you guys feel like watching the thing make its trek across the country:

468400865903254

I guessed at a weight of 70lbs, because I didnt want to hoist the damn thing onto the counter alone and the girl didnt want to help me. I packed it in a 18gal rubbermaid tub with some plywood on the bottom. Any clue what it really weighs?

so you want a longer front driveshaft? so when u make the case longer your rear will need to be smaller. stock rear driveshaft on a TJ wrnagler is only 11" and with a 5"l lift is still only 16.5" long.. so basically i don't see what the problem is.
