Here's the deal I have chaffing on my leaf springs. I installed 1" spacers and the track bar is till chaffing on the springs.

With 3/4 spacers on the heim bolt everything checks good. However with hydro assist it's not acceptable to run spacers on the bolts.

Who makes tall high steering arms? Also who makes Blank high steering arms (where you can drill your own holes).

Sky manufacturing makes tall steering arms, but they're only 7/8" taller than a standard steering arm (coupled with your 1" spacers, that would be plenty of clearance). I had a set of them back when I had a d44.

How thick are your spring packs??? It sounds like you're not running proper caster angle. Rotating the axle back will raise the arms and give you more clearance.

Why are spacers not acceptable on a hydro assist?

They put too much stress on the bolts/studs.

I'm not sure I'd agree that a hydro assist ram it going to break high steer studs or bolts (if you use quality parts!!!). Considering that my full hydro tie rod kit INCLUDED spacers I'd think they're fine for a hydro assist setup.

I'm running stock 1989' 7 leaf waggy spring packs. I don't know how thick the spring packs are. These are the springs recommended for the calmini shackle kits. All I can say 7 leave waggys are some think sob's.

It's the track bar thats chaffing. The track bar is the link which connects the passenger and driver knuckles right?

I found sky manufacturing steering arms but they did not state how much taller they are. Thanks drip speed. I'll probably go with these. I would like to get a set of steering arms that just have the 3 bolts drilled for the knuckle. I would like to measure and drill my track bar and drag link holes myself.

tmorgan44- I'm not expert on hydro assist. I'm paying professional hydro steering guy to do the work. He does hydro steering on commercial equipment for a living

I'm advised not to spacers on the bolt where the heim connects to the high steering arm. Here's what he said, High steering arm> misalignment washer>bolt.

How are you going to get much of any misalignment out of a heim without running a spacer?

Here's a pic of a proper heim set up. You should not have any other spacers or washers than shown.

My problem is I'm using extra spacers to clear the leaf springs. Hope this clears things up.

I've got the Sky tall arms on my truck. I think there are some pics on my Photobucket page.

I had the Sky tall arms on my D44, now I have their tall arms on my D60.

It barely cleared before I cut and rotated my 44, but it did clear (no problem with the drag link, the clearance issue was with the tie rod).

I'm having trouble understanding how you can be having so much trouble with yours. If you are running proper caster angles then it should clear just fine.

I'll take some pics this afternoon. AFAIK the caster angles are stock. Top spring perches are in the same place as the old lower ones are.

Those highsteer arms look like what I need.

Here's a shot of the drivers side (flexed out)

Here's a shot of the kit from their website.

The only thing I don't like about them is that they are long and I ended up needing to get a longer pitman arm to get full steering range.

Here are the pictures I took today. The last pic there are no spacers on the bolts. You can see where the track bar is rubbing against the leaf spring clip. Only have this problem on the drivers side.

In the first two pics I have spacers installed on the track bar bolt.

The one thing I don't like about sky manufacturing steering arms is the fact that they are short.
