I am considering adding a couple of extra clutch disks to the LSD of my truck. The way money is right now, I will not be able to afford a locker, or the necessities for running the ARB, at all before AZVI. I know the clutch upgrade can be done for cheap.

I was wondering who has done this, and if there is a good write up. I remember seeing something onece upon a time, but can't find it now, hah.

Also, if someone in the Phoenix, Tucson area has done it, maybe I can hire their help for a weekend Wink

The other option is to find an open carrier for the 33 spline, h233b, and add a lockrite. I dunno.

Bad news...A lockright will not fit into the 33 spline carrier. OffroadX checked into this using my lockright and a spare carrier he had laying around awhile back.

I added one extra plate to each side gear. I added the plate (with the tabs on the outside) to the gear side of the stack, not the carrier side. When I put it all back together, it was VERY hard to get the case to go together right, it was so tight. The torque spec for the case bolts will not be enough to get the case back together all the way. You will have to really work it. other than that, Brent's write-up here pretty much covers it.

Thanks for postin up all the other links. Matt, that is the one I found in the "How to" section.

I like the link with all the pics. I am still uneasy trying this by myself. Wink I am sure when I start doing it, it is easier than it looks... I am one of those guys that has a low self-confidence when it comes to mods/repairs, until I do it, you know?

Unfortently it is a 31 spline...but I have the whole axle, you could swap it in, I'd give you a great deal. Big Grin It has 4.63 gears though and I think you were running the 4.9s or 4.88s.

The reason I took it out as it was to tight. It was permantely locked, it was like having it welded. It squeeled making every minor turn and it was doing funny things to my suspension. I'm much happier with the locker.

Oh Spike, I'll come get that thing if you want it out. We can assemble it and I can always stick it on eBay, either has a whole axle or as just a third.
