Does anyone know if you can used all of the calmini Pathy/hardbody SAS crossmembers on an Xterra?
And will the skidplate fit as well?

I have a 5 speed manual/ 3.3 V6.
Any info is appreciated!

I plan on buying the front leaf spring crossmember, and the Bell shackle kit already, just curious if anything else works, that might make my SAS easier.

Thanks!!

I only used the transmission one, and while it did work, I had to drill holes in it to match the holes mounting bolt holes on the Xterra frame. That part is different from D21 to D22.

1998 Frontier 4x4, 2002 Xterra 4x4, 2007 AWD Murano, 1970 Chevy CST10 lowrider, and an Intruder VS800.

I dreamt I was a muffler last night. When I woke up, I was exhausted.

I noticed that in your article.
Was your Xterra a 5 speed or Auto?
Does that make a difference?

Thanks!

Were you able to bolt it to the transmission so it was aligned before drilling the crossmember holes?

And, my other crossmembers are pretty hammered from wheeling, if these will replace them with minimal fabrication/headache, I'd definitely want to go that route.

Starting fresh would be really nice.
And if the skidplate bolts up would be even better. Smile

it bolted right up to the trans mount. Just the frame holes were misaligned.

Auto or stick...shouldn't make any difference. They use the same transmission mount. Even my 4 banger 5 speed truck truck uses the same trans mount as the auto Xterra.

Ok, cool.
With a SUA the driveshaft clears this crossmember, right?
Obviously that is the whole reason why I'm doing this, instead of chopping my stock one.

Thanks again!!

NICE!

Now, hopefully we can figure out if the other crossmembers will work.

Do you think Calmin will be able to answer that?

Thanks

That transmission Xmember is the only one they have for a D21, unless you're also talking about the front spring hanger...I used that too....that can be done with some gussets. Go dig up the SWANKYD SAS thread in here for pics.

I'll be using the front leaf spring xmember in addition to the bell shackle kit.
I already went through the SwankyD SAS, definitely a wealth of info in there. Thanks.

I was asking about the torsion bar x-member replacement, and the t-case x-member replacement that they offer for hardbody/pathfinders.

Will those fit, along with their skidplate, on an Xterra?

Has anyone tried it?

I remember someone looking into using them and the frames on the HB/Pathy were just different enough that they would not work. I think they are different widths.

That sucks.
I was hoping to sell my t-bars still attached to the x-member with the adjusters already on.
Less headache for me.

I'll drop Calmini a call later today.
Doubt they'll be of any help, but it couldn't hurt.

Thanks

ETA:
I spoke with Calmini and he believed that the only x-member that could be used was the tranny one and it needed to be modified to fit.
He referred me to DesertRat's magazine article. Smile
He couldn't give me any center to center measurements for the other x-members so I could compare it to the Xterra ones.

All well..

I guess my fabricator will have to deal with the other ones as needed.

At least I can order the order parts.

Thanks all.

Did a little research..
Calmini pathy/hardbody t-bar x-member is roughly 27.75" center to center of bushings.

The Xterra t-bar x-member is roughly 32.5" center to center of mounts.

All well, looks like what you guys said it true.
Only crossmembers us WD22 owners can use is the front leaf spring crossmember and the tranny crossmember with redrilling the holes.
