one easy way to gain strength with thin sheetmetal flooring is to weld thinwaall angle iron to the bottom of the sheetmetal every 4-5". This lightens the sheetmetal tremendously but also adds a ridiculous amount of strength.

Rolling some beads in the sheetmetal would add a lot of strength too.

I plan on using 1/8" plating for the bed floor, and fenders. For the sides of the new "bed," I have 14ga sheet metal left over from an old project, and I have access to a bead roller.

I know its a jeep thing..... thats why I drive a nissan.

It'll look cool no matter what the weight. 84lbs extra would be worth it for the departure angle. same as 12 gal. of gas.
