Hey guys, i decided to fab up some sliders for my pathy. Im putting my sas on hold because i am currently selling my house.
So i got some of this:

To avoid more of:

I decided on 2x3 tubing for the main slider, 2x2 for the legs, and 1/4 plate for everything else.

I decided that i wanted to chamfer the leading and trailing edges. I made a bout a 50 degree cut:

Cut an end cap for it:

and welded her up (don't make fun of my welds, they were the first i have done in like 6 months and the damn tube moved off the metal i used to prop it up.

Heres about where i think they are gonna end up:

im thinking that im gonna make some kick outs on the trailing ends but i dunno. I'll keep you guys updated, this is all im doing tonite.

Be sure to set them out far enough to be effective. My outer rails are flush with the outermost part of the door skin, but I wish I had set them out another inch.

Yours are like the ones that Datz510 built on the Pirate Ship. Click on his sig pic to see his build.

What you have so far looks good.

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

I decided on .125" wall on the slider tube and legs, the brackets and everything else is 1/4 plate. i figure that .125 will be fine for what im going to do, i dont plan on dropping it a foot onto rocks daily.

I'm just trying to figure out what I want to build my next set of sliders out of. That is 2"x4" correct?

Ah, don't know why I thought it was 2x4. Any particular reason you chose those dimensions?

(sorry for all of the questions Big Grin )

Those are some sexy tires and wheels you have there.

And also remember, if you ever plan on doing a bodylift, take that into account when planning slider placement.

Another good reason to have your sliders set further out is so that a high lift jack can reach it without hitting the body. I have to open my door to accomplish this.

I hate body lifts, so i dont have to worry about that. and i'll definately look into seeing how much further out i should mount these.

Yes. I don't think a hi-lift will work with mone. I'm planning on fixing this eventually.
