Yep, i was getting some undercut, but this isnt really a part that my life is depending on. If it were to be suspension or frame repair i would have put a little more effort in to fine tuning the welds. Those gussets were cut out of the 2x2 square tubing, you have to make a total of 3 cuts to yeild a pair of gussets, kinda a PITA and you end up with lil useless triangular pieces when you are done.

I've had that problem a bunch, I guess its just the shitty paint/rust on there plus I just don't like welding downhill verticle. I had some brackets laser cut for my sliders that are fishmouthed, they give a lot more welding surface area and I don't have to weld downhill verticle..

I know its a jeep thing..... thats why I drive a nissan.

damn, i didn't think about making brackets like that.... oh well, live and learn, right?

I finally got the drivers side welded up and the welds are like 10 times better, i guess i did a better job prepping the metal.

i wish i can get started on the sas, but the thing has to be drivable at any notice cause you never know when the house might sell. i dunno, if i get bored maybe i'll fab up a rear bumper to get rid of the tin-foil one and hitch.
