Hey guys, I just picked up a 91 waggy axle for the SAS on my X. Obviously I'm going to need new rims. Right now I have a DD set of tires and an off-road set. Am I going to have to buy 10 new rims to fit on the new axle or will wheel spacers work?

What size wheels do you have now? What backspacing? Some guys have een able to fit 15" wheels depending on the type of caliper, or shaving the caliper, or the backspacing on the wheel. Spacers may be an option, but it all depends on what you have and want.

15" wheels will work as long as they have 3.5" of backspacing or less.

I'm running 15" wheels now with 4.75 BS. I just hate to have to buy all new wheels but I guess I'm going to have too. I found the Daytona 84's for about $35 each in 3.75 at Summit. I guess my concern is how far they will stick out with my 34" swampers and if they rub on the fender wells. |

Surprising my after market wheels fit my dana 44. If you have after market wheels they make the center hole big enough to fit more vehicles than just say Nissan in my case.

They might fit. I have 4" backspace 15" wheels on my 60.

I haven't tried my aftermarket rims yet. They may fit with the 1" spacers. I know the stock nissan rims won't fit so it looks like I'll just need one new set of rims if I want to run the street tires.
Of course I could just buy another DD and leave the 34's on all the time. |

That is definitely a concern.... the more they stick out the more they rub (but they give you more stability, protection from the sides, and they look cool!). If you want to stick with more stock-like backspacing you could always go for a 16 or 17" wheel - but then the tires get more expensive... |

The SAS will give you more height than you probably have now, so that should compensate for the wider offset. The Calmini SAS easily clears 33s. 34's might be OK provided they're narrow. A little fender trimming never hurt anyone

Yeah I don't mind trimming. I'm not using the Calmini kit, this will be a leaf SUA like a lot of you guys have done. On a side note, has anyone here used the Motive gears? They are cheaper than the Yukon and I was thinking about trying them. |

I just went through this getting my MTR's mounted. 3.75BS is the absolute MAX you can have. I have 3.75 and is just barley works, the wheels with 4" rub the caliper, but they do fit.

A few years ago when I replaced my front pads, my off-road rims would not fit. I had to grind the calipers down. |

That might be an option with 4", but not with 4.75". Either way, I dont like the idea of grinding the caliper.
