Here are the long arms after a little reinforcement... hehehe

This is 1.5" x 1/4" angle iron welded to the bottom of the DOM tubing.. I dont think its going to bend.

Even managed to weld the ends to strengthen the ends of the links:

Good idea with the armor on the arms. Off the subject but how does it sound with the glasspack?

It sounds great! Smile Sounds about like a desert truck should. Not really obnoxious, but you can hear it while driving around. Its got a nice mellow tone, but enough volume to hear it coming down the street.

John that's Killer. Awesome job.
Hope you kept notes on that stuff you made that way you can make a kit before calmini does and sell it.. It would be a bit more weld on though. Just a thought. Razz

My truck got rid of my cherry bomb it fell off the last time I drove it in Novemeber. I guess I need a new muffler before it leaves my garage.

I am about to do this same setup on my pathfinder. I was wondering what you came up with for the e-brake cables.

Also, any pointers before I dive into the project? Is the setup still working well for you?

What brand/part number shocks did you use?

setup is still working very well. Make sure you pay attention to the pinion angle. Mine is close, but not perfect, so I get a strange vibe sometimes in low range. Part of this for me may be due to shot bushings in the links. I'm gonna have to replace these soon if I redo the links with johnny joints.

Also, try not to move the axle back too far, as the springs will hit the shocks.. combined with the pinion angle being a little off, my springs hit the shocks now and have damaged the shocks pretty badly. I'm working on a way to correct it. The easiest way for me would be to just relocate the shocks again.

Other things you will need to do along with this:
- 3" drop insert in the frame side panhard rod bracket.
- Relocate lower shock mounts inboard a bit to allow the shock to clear the panhard rod bracket on the axle.

Its a kickass mod though. More flex than you'll ever possibly use. Without tires or springs in place, the axle has ~3ft of articulation travel at each end. I had it at nearly a 45 degree angle and ran out of travel as one end was on the floor and the other was stuffed into the wheel well. Right now, the only thing limiting my articulation is the chain that I've installed to keep it from dropping too far and losing a spring.
