I found out the X that I bought has a solid Axle from an '83 Jeep Grand Wagoneer w/V8.

I have notice that the drivers side is leaking and I'm pretty sure it is coming out of the shaft, past the ball joints, onto the tire then to the floor..

I'm guessing here but I would assume that I need to rebuild the axle with all the correct seals?

Where do I start looking?

x2 on the inner. Chances are it got mashed up while putting the axle shaft in.

Call or go to your local orelilys or napa, both stock it. They cant find it in the computer because it has a dumb name. There $20 each. I just replaced my 1980 ones. One side was leaking.

The seals will have that part number on them in tiny writing.

I gave them a call $200 in labor plus parts..

If I add on the ARB locker it was $850 + regear + labor + $150 to wire it = to much for me right now..

So I think I just get it fixed for now and locker later...

do you really need a arb? You could go with a LSD which would bring costs down a lot.
