Hey guys,

Thought I'd throw up a couple pics of my project. This is still in work, so there's still tubes missing, and it doesn't look complete.

I made the kickers (down tubes) kinda high, because I want to make a taller "bed side." Also, I need to make a panel that will house the new brake lights/signals, and it needs to be 6" tall Wink I have 1.5 more sticks left. I am going to build some A-pillar bars eventually, and completing the exo...

Anyway, here's some pics for you viewing pleasure. This is my first solo tube project. Yotamaster aka Lex helped out a lot, and we did the build at this place.

Thanks to Robert for loaning me his bender. I made a new bender stand, and bought a Pro-Tools Notcher. ballin, haha.

I am going to be building a sub floor for the bed in the next week or two, as I wanna get this done. I think it looks a little weird as it is now, lol.

It looks like it is REALLY close to the back of the cab.
It doesn't follow the body lines; it is level to the ground while the cab and frame are raked up in the rear.
The uprights at the cab, that join the main section to the frame, look dorky for some reason.

Other than that, it looks like you are off to a good start.

Gee, thanks Res.

It is about 1" off the back of the cab. I can see where you say it doesn't follow the body lines, but it is damn close. It is kinda hard to fab up a cage in a driveway that has a 20* slope, lol

It looks goofy right now, CUZ IT'S NOT DONE. Once I get the bed floor in place, the outside "fender" bars will look more in place.

I wanted to follow the height of the bed with those bars, because I'd also like to eventually turn that area into tool boxes, and this gives me room to build down towards the rear tires. :P

I only meant that to be helpful. You do good work. I just feel like I would be cheating you out of an honest opinion to say "Looking good, man!".
If I were there in person, I would say the same things; fully prepared to lend a hand to help make it the kick-ass rig that we all expect it to be.

I understand that it is not finished.

An inch may not be enough at the top of the cab. Our frames are pretty rigid, but consider that the farther you get from the frame, the more movement you will see. You might have to go do some hard core wheeling with Yotamaster to make sure it is enough clearance. Wink

Your truck is safe from rouge shopping carts now! It almost looks like you'd be able to drive that thing off of the asphalt. You should try it sometime torch

I picked up some 4" round LED lights. I am going to make a plate above the rear bumper, and stick em in there, along with my license plate. Wink

Looks good. But your truck looked great before. Any reason for the change?

I must say that I agree with Res here. I know you are capable of doing better. The only thing that I would change thus far would be the tube that doesn't meet the body line. I'd cut those welds at the cab and move that tube a couple inches farther down your hoop behind your cab, it would look so much better. Right now it appears that the tube and the body line come to a peak right there at the edge of the cab.

Next thing is you ought to toss on some safety glasses and a grinding shield. I don't want to read about another person having to get their eye drilled due to some small particles of metal in their eye all because they didn't want to wear some safety glasses.

Now get back to work on it.
