I have a 91 waggy D44 but it's all torn apart at the moment. Does anyone have the eye to eye measurements for the drag link and tie rod? I'm trying to fab up my steering.
Thanks |

Thanks I've read that but I thought that was to the tre's, not eye to eye. Unless I'm reading it wrong. |

drag link is 26.5" and tie rod is 51". i just measured on a waggy axle, those are stock waggy dimensions, obviously the drag link length is wrong for a sas.

Thanks Oliver.
Can anyone out there measure the drag link? I will be going SUA on the SAS. |

I would wait to do the drag link. I made my drag link up after I had the axle under the truck.
However I have high steer so things might be different. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

I was hoping to buy one already built to specs so I can get the SAS done in one weekend.

I thought the same thing. Steering however is always best to wait till everything is together before you take your measurements. Just like the drive shafts. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

Well I'll be using one of Barry's mods for the driveshaft and possibly his steering if he can get one together. I know other people have bought them pre-fab and not had problems. |

There's nothing worong with pre-fabed steering. Issues is you'll need to be 100% positive the measurements are right on "your" rig. You would be really upset if the steering did not fit.

Most aftermarket drag link fabricators should be able to cut it a couple inches longer than you might use, and just tap the RH side real deep, so that it essentially becomes trim to fit. Definitely need to check with whoever's going to be making your drag link though.

Good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Well after e-mailing Ballistic, I think I'm just going to order their kit. They will ship it un-welded so I can cut it to lentgh I need and weld in the threaded bungs. |

These dimensions are for any SAS using the waggy axle except SOA. Only tested on a w/d21 and wd22.
26 drag 41 tie. This is the OVERALL length of the tube. Assuming you use the common 1/2 GM 7/8tres. Barry 93 D21 King Cab SE - 35s, SAS + stuff 92 Pathfinder SE - Auto SAS 3 link 04 Quest SE - stock, perfect!!! |

If you have a welder it's pointless to buy a kit.
Just buy the DOM, cut and weld in the bongs. Thats what I did. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

True, plus you need a reamer.
