I've thought about doing this to the back cargo area of the x up the plastic sides that are all scratched up...how long did the smell last?

I suspect it is be hot and noisey.
Why are you worried about mud? I live in Mississippi and I'm not worried about mud.  I hope it works out for you, but I seriously think you should keep the insulation and carpet for a while in case you change yoru mind. |
