Well, I took my truck into a shop to have the rear main and throw out bearing replaced on my rig yesterday. The plus side, is that I have no more oil leaks
I got the truck back, and the clutch starts to engage when the peddle is only 3/4" off the ground. Also, sometimes, it doesn't want to go into gear when downshifting, or in a parking lot. What are potential culprits for this? I am taking it back after work today to at least have them re-bleed the cluch lines. ----------------------------- My myspace page. TUPPERWARE!!!! shifter pin not full disengaging or engaging.
Hoohaa had a similar problem he did his manual swap. His clutch wasn't fully engaging and felt like it was slipping so he had to file down the pin and it's been working great since. I don't have the FSM here at work so I can't really point to you what and where it is. mkay, but what would change this? I just had them replace the throw out bearing, and they pulled and reinstalled the trans. Could they have not seated the gear shifter all the way or something?

You could have air in your clutch line or they could have installed the wrong throwout bearing. I know from working on 510's that Nissan had quite a few different throwout bearing carriers (usually you buy them as a set). Putting the wrong carrier/bearing combo in would make it so that the clutch did not have enough throw. Air in the clutch line will cause the same issue.

I ordered the parts from ABC. I used a throw out bearing for a 4wd (to match the trans and clutch kit).

That is what I'm thinking too. However, there is no reason they needed to undo the slave cylinder. That can be removed from the bell housing, and tied off out of the way. I bet he removed the line....
Also, what type of fluid are we supposed to avoid? GL4? ----------------------------- My myspace page. TUPPERWARE!!!! "Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." |

Going back to my other question... what type of fluid is supposed to used in the trans? I know there was one to avoid at all costs, but I can't remember what...

GL-4 only with the older manuals but I'm not too sure if the newer ones are the same.
