I have started my bed bob and will be shortening the bed 17"s. I got the rear section cut off, and will have some pics tommarrow. It is pretty easy so far, and I have read and studied all the internet stuff I could find. Should be a good performance mod that will allow me to keep up with the Xteras and Pathfinders. torch

Eyes Fer a sec there, I thot you were talking rim size.

I think the steel is pretty stout, and should hold it's shape well, while your cutting.

Using cutting wheels and sawzall?

Ditto. If he was talking rims I'd have to
e-bitch slap him. As soon as I need tires again i'm definately going to go with 15s. There's no inexpensive rubber for 17s that are worth a damn.

Yo Bill, could you go outside and measure your bed length for me? I might make my bed the same size so I can get a shell for a crew cab and have it fit.

if youre going to go that route why not just put a junkyard CC bed on it and shorten your wheelbase some in the same step?

I don't wanna shorten the wheelbase, it is fine. I am just getting my angles better. Now go out and measure your bed size for me, I need to cut the next section. smiley12

Bobs post said 55"s from inside rail to inside of tailgate, is that correct, Chris please do that measurement for me. I looked and to make mine 55"s inside the bed is doable. I would be cutting around 18"s to make it happen. I think it will be a good idea so I can get a shell or maybe a soft shell some day.
