I won't give away everything, but I'll share some stuff. At least 3 guys sank in quicksand before the run ever started. Marshall had to go cert a tire when a tree branch came out of nowhere and went right through his sidewall. They say it's real cold camping at night.

We all pitched in and bought Powerball tickets - $230 million sounds good.

That's all for today. I'm running the trail with them tomorrow.

because f*cked up trackbar = death wobble. deathwobble + 400 mile drive home = crash and die.
it was worth the drive though.

It was good to meet you. Sucks that this happened, but better to be safe than sorry. If you feel like riding along tomorrow - you could ride out with me. The coves at the lake are pretty fun. I'll be coming back to town after the trail as I don't camp often. I'll be leaving my house at about 8:45am - if you're interested, let me know. I'll check the board at 8:30 in the morning before I get loaded up.

They came all the way to Fl. to baptise mine. As far where I was, I wish I was there. But if I were, I would have to see about getting a bump stop in town so I could finish the week. Now I say that because I am not there and I would have traveled over 2000 miles. I did however manage to break a leaf spring yesterday though.

Posting from Wednesday campsite up at Edwards Park. We're at around 5500ft and the breeze is chilly though nice with the sun out.

As far as updates:

Ian and Robin sunk in quicksand on the way up to the Day 1 camp site the day before the run.. Between air in the diesel problems with the Patrol and winching people out of quicksand, we rolled into camp about 2am Monday morning. Meanwhile at camp, Keith and Brent also sunk in the river. I'll try to get some photos up while my net connection is working.

On Monday, we had a great time out in Lower Sycamore. The pirate ship almost sunk in quicksand again, but I was able to get out with lockers & some throttle. Lower sycamore creek is running pretty good. Flip sunk his junk as well and had to get pulled out.

Tuesday, we hit the coves. I thought I had a wheel bearing squealing on me, so I tore down the driver's side front of my pathy out in cove 1 on on the beach. Tossed in 2 new bearings, but found I still had the noise. Dug around some more and found that my driver's side front U-joint is almost seized, which is making all the noise. Brent had massive beer casualties... when they got to camp, they found that the block ice in their cooler broke/opened all their bottles and smashed the cans of soda.

Wednesday, Ian and Stu had to take the Patrol back to town as they were running low on diesel. They should be meeting us up at camp later tonight. Brian (xtoolbox) had a U joint cap come loose in his frontend, but repaired it as we got into camp. Also, the rest of my beer died in the cooler as all the bottles got opened and one broke from the rough trail. No Bueno...

I also hiked a mile or so looking for the mythical road to Reno Pass and never found it.

Pics soon (if my battery hlds up)...

Yeah, what John Said.

We are all sitting around a huge campfire tonight drinking beer and from the looks of things we will be freezing our asses off tonight.

I almost had to leave tomorrow, but I worked out my problems, so Im here for the rest of the run.

Very nice pics!

The quicksand reminds me of AZ Run V or was it VI when DR and Terrance got stuck in the quicksand going to the trail head of Hackberry.
