Can't go wrong with a Garmin mapping unit.

Remember I've got a d44 in pieces, what do you want to borrow?

Raided the local Harbor Freight tonight... picked up 3 sets of driving lights, a sledgehammer, some adjustable wrenches, and a few other parts for the truck tool box.

Also hit up Fry's electronics and picked up a new Firestik knockoff CB antenna for $9 and a few spare CB antenna mounts in case anyone breaks theirs.

Tommorrow, I'm off to 4 Wheelers Supply to grab a couple of Warn D rings for my recovery kit.

Good idea. I might want to run down to HF and get some tools as well. What kind of antenna mounts did you get? Magnetic? How Much? I want to do a different antenna on my truck, but I'm on a budget.

The mounts I got are a stud mount kinda like one of these:

I've seen a few broken ones, so I figure picking up a couple for the spare parts box might be a good idea.

Oh yeah, I also got this sweet little 8 LED flashlight from Harbor Freight for $8. Brightest flashlight I've seen in a long time!

Kinda like this one:

Its bright enough, it lights up the fence clear across my backyard.

That's funny. I spent the night trying to take stuff out of the travel kit. lol Tomorrow I order an alternator. I found one online, supposedly new, for AutoZone pricing with no core charge so I get to keep my working (but god awful noisy) factory alternator for a spare. If it wasn't going to rain on us so dang much I'd just carry the new one on the run and swap it later but I DO NOT want to be doing that chit in the rain and mud outdoors in the snow.

Me? I'm having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, you?

Sorry I couldn't make it over to your place this weekend, Mud. I was really busy on Saturday getting as much stuff as I could done by myself and Sunday was much of the same. What's happening this weekend? Maybe I could get those leaf springs in.

What's involved with this? I'm going to have to buy longer u-bolts when I add leaves, so I was thinking about doing this while I'm at it.

I'm working both Sat/Sun this weekend until about 5. Do you have a garage to work in? You can come get the springs if you want to tear into it. I have a small floor jack and jack stands you can borrow to lift the axle if you have a jack and stands to lift the back by the frame. When I swapped my springs last time I had to replace one of the front bolts and both of the back (at the shackles). When I first added leaves I was able to put three leaves in and use the same U-bolts by leaving the overload leaf that Xterras come with out.

You'd be tearing these packs apart then taking the springs off your truck and taking them apart and weaving extra springs from the donors into yours where they fit best and putting them back together and back on the truck. Clamping the bastages to get the center pin threaded can be a bit of work.

If it ain't broke...

I have a garage and a jack/jackstands. I suppose I could do all of this stuff myself, I've just never done it before. So, the extra hand would probably be helpful. I have two sets of waggy leaf packs in my garage too. I suppose I could start tearing into it this weekend and post up here to get advice I get hung up on something. What leaves should I use from the waggy packs and how many?

Id help, but I'm going to be really busy on my truck this weekend after not being able to do anything on it for 3 weeks.

I did go to Walmart last night to stock up on propane and I found a cool portable hot shower setup that uses a camp propane bottle on the heat exchanger. Hot showers for me on the run! It looks like it just pumps water out of a jug. Hopefully that's $100 well spent.

I also bought a nice shiny new baseball bat. Hmmm.

I was just looking up receipts for the trailer this morning and I realized that just over 3 weeks ago I was picking up the steel to build the trailer from Industrial Metal Supply.

This is what I started with on Saturday March February 2nd:

This was taken Sunday March February 24th:

I've been busy too.
