The Pirate Ship's windows got tinted yesterday. Big difference! Nothing too radical.. just needed to keep the heat out. Should make the A/C work a LOT better.

Yep, what a difference window tint makes. A/C is ice cold. Makes for very comfortable driving, even with triple digit ambient temps. Smile

Got the rear window done this afternoon and re-tinted the driver's door (screwed it up first time around).

My list of things to do is getting narrowed down:

1. Tranny fluid change
2. Build a front Driveshaft with CV
3. Rear suspension spring retainers

The past week or two have just been hell for my truck. My driver side manifold is slightly warped now from driving through a puddle. So thats makes the truck sound like its ripping ass for about a mile until the manifold warms up. Then, one of the relays for my Hella lights froze up causing the lights to stay on which in turn caused a small fire in the bed of my truck. My mag lite, brand new floor mats, a towel, and tie down strap are now crispy and unusable. That really doesnt piss me off. What pisses me off is the windows were closed on the camper shell, so all the soot from the fire coated just about everything back there. This is definately one way to limo-tint some windows if anybody wanted to do that. Kinda screwed up some paint on the outside of the truck as well. My optima battery had to be trickle charged too. Mad

So other than that, I just gotta replace some leaf springs and do a quick SAS job and I'm good to go lol

Oh and a motor mount.

Wait.....what?? How does a stuck relay start a fire in the bed? They should be able to be left on until the battery dies.
Am I missing something? Were the lights aimed at a magnifying glass in the bed of the truck?

One of the lights was hooked up and not mounted, sitting in the bed of the truck. Was gonna mount them this weekend, but I guess I can't do that now. lol I think something (like the towel) might have flopped on top of the light, got it hot enough, and lit it up. Not really sure how they started on fire, but they sure as hell did. Gonna get the power washer out tonight and spray all the crap outta the bed. Then cover the burned metal with a good coat of primer after i clean it up real good.

The truck lives on, just a lot of cleanup work to do in the bed. I'm picking up my battery tomorrow too.
